Our Client is a global merchant trading, commodities and procurement & supply company with world class credit capabilities.

Description :

Location : Dakar, Senegal and from time to time in Lagos, Nigeria.

 Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Understand banks liquidity needs across Nigeria and develop plans to address them, using the company bank funding structures. Innovate as much as possible.

 • Identify clients' procurement and credit needs in Nigeria and develop plans to address them, using the company's supplier's credit solutions. Focus on large local corporates, quasi-sovereign, sovereign, and banks.

 • Market the company's products' offering and value proposition to new and existing counterparties.

 • Gain solid competitors' knowledge in the respective markets and the region overall.

  • Manage existing relationships with counterparties - both banks and corporates (as appropriate).

 • Negotiate and agree commercial terms with counterparties.

  • Promote high quality trade financing and customer service processes.

 • Coordinate within companies, banks, and relevant departments.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the group in identifying new opportunities, developing new products, and ensuring timely and effective delivery of business objectives. Document call reports in line with company policy and in a timely manner. Ensure compliance of all projects with related agreements and various company guidelines, including anti-money laundering guidelines.

 

 Required Functional and Behavioural Competencies, Qualifications and Experience

 • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Banking, Economics, or related discipline in a recognized university.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial banking and/or development banking in areas such as sales, credit, trade finance operations, with in-depth knowledge of best practices. Good understanding of credit limits with banks and financial institutions. Financial institution and/or corporate client relationship management experience and management skills.

 • Knowledge and understanding of trade finance instruments.

 • Strong knowledge of trade finance common structures.

 • Good knowledge of cross boarder trading and transaction processes.

  • Have a good understanding of UCP 600.
  • Ability to build and manage relations at all levels.

 • Ability to understand, and when appropriate, anticipate client needs, and ensure that the client receives the best possible service from the company.

 • Strong communication skills.

 • Strong Sales skills

 • Work as "One" team.

 • Drive for results and have a customer-oriented mindset.
